Chusien Chang in collaboration with Iren Jensen
A turtle constructed of local river rocks bearing a Chumash design in
natural pigments (soot, chalk, berries) recalls a Gabrielino childrens
story of creation, water, and earthquakes.

Chusien Chang has created sculpture for 15 years;
most works are primarily site-specific. Iren Jensen was born and raised
in Norway. Since 1996, she has focused her work on womens issues,
in addition to social and ecological concerns.

Betty Phoenix Wan creates an image of birdseed
on the riverbanks where she played as a child. The snake is a symbol
of infinity, a visual metaphor for the river/flow/shape. Betty Phoenix
Wan is a mixed-media installation artist.
