Zolita Sverdlove has been active as an artist for nearly
six decades — her oil paintings and prints have been exhibited
nationally and internationally in a long list of solo and juried
shows and invitationals. She began her studies at Cooper Union in
New York, worked extensively in Texas, and currently makes her home
in Southern California, where she is active with the Graphics Art
Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Los Angeles
Printmaking Society. Zolita’s recent work focuses on landscape;
it is concerned with the changing moods of natural surroundings
— what she calls “forms in flux.” Her approach to
the canvas is dynamic and, fittingly, she prefers changeable subjects
such as clouds and water which speak of the underlying metaphysical
forces of nature.
