POETRY IN THE WINDOWS III
To Catch the Play of Shapes and Light
To catch the play of shapes and light
Her canvas, stretched and primed in white,
Of clouds aglow in pitch-blue night.
Not letting cordoned facts of sight
As golden mustard hills ignite
Her colors strange, but strangely right,
Note: Poetry in the Windows III winner, Barry Abrams, Collective member and Montecito Heights resident, wrote this villanelle about his wife Alexis' paintings.
