Karl Mihail

"SKERP-KABOE"

Prison

by Paul David Ashely
(born 1942, dies 1975 in Arizona State prison)

If you would work one small miracle
repair one man
without violence or comtempt
assemble one body
without leaning on the grotesque
inventions of pain

if I could understand the mystery of the rain
how it holds its dignity
in the violence of a storm
if freedom was not more important
than even god of death
you could have me I would not escape

Having been active in the L.A. art scene since the eartly 1980's Karl Mihail's work has incorporated a diverse array of materials and processes while exploring and redefining conventional notions of the body, social relations and human condition.
