Highland Park Hardware employess Bessy Pleitez and Karen. The hardware
store, like many businesses in Highland Park, has passed through several
hands. When the original owners (who carried gifts, miniatures and doll
furniture) retired, they sold to a Vietnamese immigrant. A much more utilitarian
atmosphere now prevails to serve the local handymen and construction people
who frequent the store. Their poster was by a Vietnamese poet who translated
his own poem.
