"Thought"

A jail is thought to be a place that is all about time. The funny thing is, the first thing it does in there is stop. It hangs before you. It just sits there and dares you to watch it grinding to a halt. When I first saw this space, I immediately knew this room summed up those feelings of slow decay and forgotten purpose. We all understand what it feels like to have hope snatched away and then be expected to continue on, head held high and all. The funny thing is, most of us do.

"Thought" is the reminder that time is the ultimate creator of our reality. All is process in progress. Nothing, but nothing remains the same. Everything changes. Everything revolves, and everything files away. Shortly after the show's opening, in a surreal example of this very point, the L.A.P.D. shut the work down and closed if off from public view. It turned out the room contained evidence from a years old case that some detective was still holding onto in the hopes that time would wait for him.
